what does it mean to teach a child to live the story of God as found in the Bible?

how do you teach a child practices that will begin the process of spiritual formation?

why are parenting blogs most often written by women?

These are just a few of the questions that sparked the idea for this blog. The goal of this blog is to present an equal (mom and dad) perspective on Christian parenting in the 21st century. We are not experts nor do we claim any special knowledge; only a desire to live our lives as part of the Bigger Story – and teach our boys to do the same.

The title of the blog is inspired by a line from an Andrew Peterson song, “All Things New” from Resurrection Letters, Vol. 2.

The world was good, the world is fallen, the world will be redeemed, so hold on to the promise. The stories are true that Jesus makes all things new.

The reason we live our lives the way we do is because the stories aren’t just stories – the stories are true. There is a promise to hold on to. The story continues even today and we are a part of it – even in the daily routines of family life.
